WHY SUPPORT HOYT SHERMAN PLACE?

Countless hours and millions of dollars, contributed by many individuals and organizations, helped restore the historic Hoyt Sherman Place Theater. Since its reopening in 2003, after a three year community-led renovation, Hoyt Sherman Place has become Central Iowa's premier mid-sized venue for live music, theater, comedy, dance, lectures and diverse cultural events.

As a not-for-profit organization, ticket sales and other earned income cover only a portion of our expenses. The support of individuals and businesses who share our values helps bridge the gap, allowing us to continue to:

• Preserving historic architecture;
• Promoting the visual and performing arts;
• Exposing Iowans to more diverse cultural events;
• Continuing arts education in greater Des Moines;
• Attracting and retaining people and businesses to our community
