Carol Pollock, Executive Director

Prior to joining Hoyt Sherman Place in the fall of 2006, Carol was the Booking & Marketing Director at the 17,000 seat AT&T Center (Home of the San Antonio Spurs) and Booking Manager at the 65,000 seat Alamodome, both in San Antonio, TX. Prior to San Antonio, Pollock served as General Manager of the Pensacola, Florida Civic Center, the Bayfront Auditorium and the 1,800-seat restored Saenger Theater. She began her career in the public facility industry as the Marketing Director for the Rockford, IL MetroCentre. Carol was recognized by the Pensacola News Journal as one of 12 successful women in leadership roles and was a founder of “On the Waterfront”, Illinois’ largest music festival that annually draws over 350,000 people to downtown Rockford.


John Bryan, Assistant Executive Director and Business Manager

Ten years previous convention center/arena with the City of Des Moines, Polk County, and Global Spectrum. John served in capacities of both Finance Manager, Operations Manager, and acting Facility Administrator. Prior to that John served 18 years in various management capacities with both the City of Des Moines and the City of West Des Moines.

Annie Olson, Development and Donor Relations Manager

Annie graduated from Simpson College in May 2014 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History. While at Simpson, she spent a year working in the Development office where she communicated with donors and solicited gifts. Her internships with National History Day and Organizing for America provided her with a strong background in recruiting and coordinating volunteers and planning and implementing events. Annie joined Hoyt Sherman Place in August 2014.

Allison Fegley, Events Sales and Services Manager

Allison graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Spanish. During her time at school she had the opportunity to study and work abroad in London, England, for a semester, where she gained a lot of event planning and marketing experience. When she started at Hoyt Sherman Place in July 2008, she served as the Event and Volunteer Coordinator and was later promoted to Event and Sales Manager in 2010. In 2012, she was selected to be part of a team who managed the needs of those requiring mobility assistance at Super Bowl XLVI at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Allison also received a scholarship to receive additional management training at Venue Management School at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia, during the summers of 2013 and 2014. She currently lives in Des Moines and enjoys taking walks, spending time with friends and visiting family.


Felix Campbell, Technical Director

Felix Campbell attended Iowa State University for seven years studying Computer Science and Physics. He has worked at Hoyt Sherman Place since October 2003. Felix enjoys his time at Hoyt Sherman Place because he encounters new challenges each day. Felix lives in Des Moines with his dog and his two cats.


Candice Revita, Sales and Event Coordinator

Candice graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Event Management. During her time at Iowa State, Candice was greatly involved on campus and within the Greek community. She obtained valuable event management experience through her positions within her sorority, campus involvement and internship with the Iowa Events Center. She currently lives in Des Moines and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Dana Hanson, Box Office Manager

Dana graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. During her time at Simpson, Dana was involved in Greek Life, Women's Basketball, and intramurals. Being an officer in her sorority gave her valuable life skills and leadership opportunities. Dana continues to volunteer her time as an alumnae advisor to her sorority. An internship at Ticketmaster provided her with great experience and connections, which turned out to be instrumental in finding her job at Hoyt Sherman Place. Dana joined the staff in July 2008.


Martin Davis, Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor

Prior to joining the Hoyt Sherman team, Martin was part of the Wesley Acres retirement facility maintenance crew for two years. Before that, he worked with Knapp Properties as a Maintenance Manager.

When Martin is not donning the Operations Manager hat at Hoyt Sherman Place, he enjoys spending time with his family in the great outdoors camping, hiking, biking and gardening, as well as hunting for mushrooms. All of the aforementioned includes the family dog, Ace, a wily American Mastiff rescue. Martin also enjoys cooking, making art, and coaching high school rugby at Roosevelt High School.

Martin has always admired Hoyt Sherman Place and is now proud to be a member of the team.
